Trip to Harrisburg to Distribute “180” DVDs On Wednesday, September, 27th, 2017, a small group of us were at the PA State Capitol building on a very important mission. Our mission was to distribute an “180” DVD to all of the state representatives and state senators. This effort was one of great importance. These DVDs present a very clear argument against abortion by comparing abortion to the Holocaust in Germany. Ray Comfort talks to eight people off the streets and asks them their opinion on abortion. All those he asked had common stands and arguments on the issue. In a matter of minutes, Ray Comfort is able to get them to change their minds from being Pro-Choice or riding the fence on the issue of abortion to being Pro-Life. Our goal in distributing these DVDs to the state legislators is to get them to watch the DVD and be touched by the presentation contained within the DVD. We met on the Capitol steps at 9:00 in the morning. After sending out hundreds of emails to folks to try to get volunteers to help us, it turned out to be just Helen MacMinn, Donna Merritt, Kendra Hamlett and myself. This was discouraging to see such a low turnout…but little is MUCH when GOD is in it! Helen had the wonderful idea to call the PA Family Institute and ask for some volunteers to come and help. Praise the Lord, two men from the PA Family Institute came to the Capitol to help in the DVD distribution. They were able to stay a short while, but their help was definitely a blessing. We distributed the groups of DVDs that we had organized according to the location of the offices in the Capitol building and off we went. As we said, little is MUCH when the LORD is in it! This was proven in a miraculous way on September 27th. With just 6 people, we got ALL 253 of the DVDs distributed in around 7 hours. Most of the DVDs had been distributed by the time that we stopped for lunch! When we sit back and think of the number of offices, the amount of distances between all the offices, etc. and the very small number of us that there was, we can see that getting all those 253 DVDs out in one day was nothing short of a miracle from the Lord. We did not get to talk to any of the senators, but we did get to talk to a few of the representatives. A fewthat we talked to that were in tremendous agreement with us and our efforts were Representative Barry Jozwiak from Berks County, Representative Mike Reese from Westmoreland/Somerset Counties, and Representative Tommy Sankey from Clearfield County. There seemed to be about 30 or 40 representative that are on the Pro-Life side…some we talked to personally and some we talked to their secretaries or chief of staff. It was an encouragement as we were distributing the DVDs in the various offices to have the legislator tell us that they are on our side, that they will watch the DVD, or to have a staff member ask if they can watch it too! We did encounter some friction from some of the legislators’ offices, but nothing of great significance. There were some offices that we went into that sneered and mocked us for what we were doing, either verbally or with their facial expressions. But for the most part, we were received well. We will be following up this distribution with a letter to all of the legislators in a few weeks. We want to give them time to watch the DVD. Our cover letter we presented with the DVDs was a general letter that did not state our view on abortion. We wanted even the most horrible legislators to watch the DVD. We knew if some knew it was a Pro-Life DVD, they would not watch it. However, in the follow-up letter, we will be making our stand very clear and will push the Pro-Life message in the letter. We encourage you to write a letter of your own to your state representative and state senator and to call them asking them to not only vote for bills like the dismemberment bill, but to enforce the laws of PA on abortion….according to state law in PA abortion is still ILLEGAL! It is time that our legislators start standing up for what is right and moral, to start standing for the lives of unborn children, and to start enforcing our state’s laws. Let’s make our voice heard! ~ Jack and Queen Kendra Hamlett
