Veteran's Discounts and More

The following are offering discounts or other benefits to veterans on Veterans Day:

• Nature’s Garden Natural Foods and Shoes, 4360 Perkiomen Ave., Exeter Township, is offering all veterans with ID 20% off all vitamin supplements and formulas on Veterans Day.

• The Fred Beans Automotive Group is again offering Veterans Day discounts on automotive services, including a free oil change, to both retired and active military personnel. The offers are valid throughout Veterans Day.

In addition to a free oil change and a filter, the automotive group is offering 20% off labor for automotive services up to $150. The dealerships are also doubling the military rebate on new vehicle purchases. The rebates vary by manufacturer.

“Our annual Veterans Day event gives us the opportunity to meet and show appreciation for the veterans in our community,” said Fred Beans, founder of the automotive group and a Coast Guard veteran. “This is just a small way we can give back to those in our community who give so much of themselves to serve and protect our country.”

 Veterans are invited

to Adelphia Seafood, 3024 Penn Ave., West Lawn, on Veterans Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to receive a free take-n-bake dinner. Meal choices include crab cakes, salmon, or cod, served with roasted potatoes and vegetables. To prepare, simply remove the lid and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes. This marks the 12th year of Adelphia’s Veterans Day meal giveaway, and the team is proud to continue the tradition.

In addition to the annual giveaway, Adelphia offers a 10% discount year-round to all active duty and retired military personnel. Veterans are kindly asked to present their military ID at checkout to receive the discount.

• Sheetz is offering veterans and active duty military personnel a free meal and car wash on Veterans Day. Veterans and active duty military personnel can enjoy a free half turkey sub and a regular size fountain drink. The offer includes extras and add-ons to the sub. Sheetz will also provide a free car wash. This offer only applies to the $9 car wash option. Military ID or proof of service must be presented to qualify.

Customers are encouraged to donate their loyalty points in November to the United Service Organizations. One hundred loyalty points will equate to a $1 donation to the USO via the Sheetz app.

• Veterans and current service members are invited to visit a Royer’s Flowers & Gifts store on Veterans Day to receive a free red and white carnation with a blue bow as a thank you for their service. Guests are asked to show a valid military ID or veteran card to receive their bouquet.

In addition, Royer’s stores are collecting holiday cards for the national American Red Cross “Holidays for Heroes” initiative, which sends heartfelt messages of gratitude and encouragement to deployed service members and veterans. Community members are encouraged to drop off cards at any location until Nov. 15 to help brighten the holidays for those serving overseas.

• On Veterans Day, Rutter’s invites all veterans and active duty military personnel to enjoy a free coffee, cappuccino, fountain drink, or slushy of any size at any Rutter’s location. To receive the complimentary beverage, veterans and active duty members simply need to show a valid military ID or arrive in uniform at any Rutter’s register.

Honoring those who served in the United States Armed Forces

Veterans Day was formerly called “Armistice Day,” the holiday was originally intended to honor veterans of the First World War. Later, the meaning of the holiday was expanded to include all US military who served in either wartime or peacetime. Veterans Day is now celebrated every November 11 in the United States.

Veterans Day 2025 is Tuesday, November 11, 2025. This annual federal holiday honors those who served in the United States Armed Forces.

On November 11 in commemoration of the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. Hostilities officially ended in 1918 at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

Here are some of the meal deals for veterans and military members in Central Pennsylvania:

  • Applebee’s:  Veterans and active duty military receive a free meal from a select menu on November 11 at participating locations. Dine-in only.
  • Bob Evans: The restaurant will be offering a special menu of seven homestyle favorites available to Veterans and active duty military free.
  • Buffalo Wild Wings: Veterans and active duty service members get a free order of 10 boneless wings and fries on November 11 with a valid ID.
  • Chick-fil-A: Participating locations are offering veterans and active duty members a breakfast chicken biscuit or lunch/dinner original chicken sandwich (select items). Proof of service is required.
  • Chili’s: Veterans and active duty military members get a free meal on November 11 at all participating restaurants. Available in restaurants only for select items. (ID required)
  • Cracker Barrel: On Nov. 11, Veterans can enjoy a free slice of double fudge Coca-Cola cake with their meal. Special promotions run all month.
  • Denny’s: Veterans and active duty military personnel receive a free Original Grand Slam on November 11 from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. Must show valid Military ID or DD214.
  • Dunkin:  Veterans and active duty military personnel receive a free Original Grand Slam on November 11 from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. Must show valid Military ID or DD214.
  • Golden Corral: On November 11 at 4:00 p.m. to close, Golden Corral is hosting its Military Appreciation Night, including a free “thank you” meal.
  • Hoss’s Steak & Sea House:  Veterans and active duty military will receive free soup, salad, bread, nacho and dessert bar, and iced tea on Monday, November 11. Dine-in only.
  • iHop: Free red, white and blueberry pancakes for Veterans and active duty military at participating locations. A valid military ID or proof of service is required, dine-in only. Limit one per guest.
  • Little Caesars Pizza: On Veterans Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Veterans and active duty military can receive a free lunch combo. Proof of service is required. Participating locations only.
  • Outback Steakhouse: Free Bloomin’ Onion and Coca-Cola for Veterans and active duty military. Dine-in and to-go orders valid.
  • Olive Garden: On November 11, Olive Garden is having a Veterans Day free meal for all active duty military and Veterans, including entrée from special menu paired with breadsticks and salad or soup.

    • Wendy’s: On November 11, Veterans and active duty service members can receive a free small breakfast combo.

    • Ashley Furniture: Veterans and active duty service members can receive 10% off any purchase at participating stores.
    • Macy’s: Veterans Day deals on select items in-store and online.
    • Rite Aid: From November 10 to 12, customers with a valid military ID or proof of service are eligible for 15% off regular-priced items at any location. Customers must be members of the Rite Aid Rewards program. In-store purchases only.
    • Reebok: Reebok is offering a 40% off discounted price to Veterans, active duty service members, first responders, health care workers and more. Verify with ID to claim discount.
    • Samsung: Veterans, active duty service members and their families can save up to 30% off.
    • Target: Target is offering a 10% military discount from October 29 through November 11 to all active duty military personnel, Veterans and their families. The discount can be used on two separate transactions and applies to all in-basket items, online and in-store.
    • Tractor Supply: On November 11, active duty service members and Veterans receive a 10% discount. Must complete Hometown Hero verification process through Neighbor’s Club to receive discount.
    • Walgreens: From November 8 to 11, Veterans, military and their families will receive 20% off regular price eligible store items at any Walgreens or Duane Reade drugstore nationwide.
