May 2020 Zoom meeting

 Welcome everybody, thank you for joining us tonight.  This is Berks County Patriots 1st Zoom Meeting.   We wish it was in person, hopefully next month it will be.
 
Linda Brancadora will open our meeting with a prayer and Pledge.

Welcome again folks.   For those that don't know me I’m Sam Brancadora Chairman of the Berks County Patriots.
 
 We will start our main program shortly.   1st some BCP business and comments.
 
  COVID-19.   There are many things that can be said, should be said, and will be said AND investigated over the next months and years.  Tonight, I just want to make a few personal comments.
 
 I strongly disagreed with Governor Wolf's order.   It is one of the harshest and abusive of all States. Governor Wolf is infringing on our God-given and Constitutional Rights.    He is creating unnecessary hardships on our citizens and our economy.  Enough is enough!
 
 Governor Wolf should allow the County Commissioners of each County to decide what is best for their area as President Trump has allowed each Governor to do the same for their area.   Let Berks County determined Berks County's Future.
 
 It's unfair for big Box stores like Walmart and Lowes to be able to sell the same items that locally owned stores could sell if they were allowed to be open. 
 
 Some businesses have already announced that they are permanently closing.    More will be lost.    Let's stop this.    Let's re open our businesses.    Let's get people back to work so they can earn a paycheck and feed their families.    We can do this in a Safe Reasonable Way.     
 
Wolf has threatened to pull the health department certificate of any business that reopens. He has also threatened to seize the license of any business that goes against his order.  He also has threatened the loss of liability insurance coverage AND Wolf has already done some of these!
 
 Folks, any business that can implement effective health and safety measures in line with CDC and OSHA should be allowed to reopen. 
 
 I want to thank all of those that been pushing back against the Governor and his threats.   I want to thank our local Legislators, Commissioners, Businesses and Individuals like YOU.   However, we must try harder and we must not let up.   I'm asking all of you to contact them.   Thank them for their support and tell them they MUST continue in their efforts to reopen Berks County reopen Pennsylvania.  Reopen NOW!
 
 I specifically would like you to contact legislators regarding HR836, this a bill by Rep Russ Diamond.
The subject is termination of the COVID-19 Disaster Emergency.
 Reading part, Section 7301C states that the General Assembly by concurrent resolution may terminate a state of disaster emergency at any time. Thereupon, the Governor SHALL issue an executive order or proclamation ending the state of disaster emergency.
Folks help us with this. That’s HR836.
 
Folks people throughout the Country not only in Pennsylvania feel as though they’re in jail, they want to go back to work, they want their freedom back.
Our Granddaughter goes to Yale. She text me Tuesday that right outside her apartment they were chanting, let us work, let us work, let us work!!!
Folks we need to be set free.       
 
Moving on to BCP Announcements and Events
 
Saturday May 23rd 9;00 o’clock.  I want to read 1 sentence of an email I received.  I will give you an update on this at the end.
 "As we are all aware it is a disgrace and disgusting that the Memorial Day services are canceled this year and to add to that insult flag distributors in Pennsylvania are NOT allowed to sell flags." 
 
So folks several individuals took it on their own, bought and had shipped to them 500 made in the USA flags. They will be placing these flags on the Veterans Area in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Exeter Township. If you would like to help or to be present to honor our fallen heroes please join us at 9:00 am.   A special thanks to Steve Kruszewski and Joe Phillips for leading this effort.
 
I want to give you an update from Steve. “A couple days ago Wolf "allowed" the flag distributor in Gilbertsville a waiver to sell the American flags for the graves of veterans.  Forest Hill Cemetery will be getting 7000 flags. Governor Wolf is a disgrace for waiting until the last minute to "allow" flags to be sold, distributed and placed on veterans’ graves.”
Folks there's people out there right now as I speak putting up these flags and will be doing it tomorrow in addition to Saturday at 9 o'clock.
 
Saturday May 23rd Noon Helen McMinn and Donna Merritt will be coordinating a BCP Trump Rally.  It will be held across the 422 bypasses right next to the Shops at Wyomissing and right down the road from Kissinger’s Church. We usually park in their parking lot.
 
Monday June 2nd Election, Rod Miller will talk about this in a couple minutes. I just want to tell you that I personally am going to the poll to vote.  I am not doing a mail in. If our Country ever goes to an all-mail in vote, the integrity of our system will be lost and so will Democracy. So please I'm encouraging you to go to the polls to vote.
 
June 8th Second Amendment Rally in Harrisburg 10:00 a.m.  Pas Right to Keep and Bear Arms. We go every year and I hope many of you will join us.
You heard this said many times but it's well worth repeating. ALL our Amendments are important they are the cornerstone of our Constitutional Republic however we must remember that the 2nd amendment is the ONE that Guarantees all the others.   Look around the world and see the countries that do not have the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.  Look at history.  We are doing this with or without Wolfs permission.  Please join us.
 
June 18th GM will feature Dr Rick Saccone he will speak about Restoring American Values. Also, Alexis Campbell talking about Berks Suffrage, 100 years. Also, Loren Spivak, The Free Market Warrior. This will be a great program.  Hopefully we can do this in person.

CL Bryant. Radio personality and visionary.  As a former NAACP President in Garland Texas and a Senior Fellow with D C based Freedom Works CL Bryant brings a unique outlook to issues facing our nation. I’m looking forward to hearing him.

Gregory Wrightstone, Inconvenient Facts.  About Climate Change. The science that Al Gore doesn't want you to know. I read his book actually I read it twice!  Eye opening!
 
There will be a special presentation for our Veterans by Schuylkill Valley 6 graders.
 
In December we will have a Special program Honoring our Veterans and Christmas Party
 
There also will be other speakers thru out the year.
